I use them all the time and they are super useful.\u00a0This is not a Windows tutorial, but this next video simply shows you the power of keyboard shortcuts.<\/p>\n<p>You might even learn a few shortcuts that can be helpful while trading.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RQaTIS85VKE\" width=\"840\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">?<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So in a similar way, using Hot Keys in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/nakedmarkets-discount\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NakedMarkets<\/a> will help you speed up your backtesting because you can easily hit one key and execute a complex function.<\/p>\n<p>As you'll see in this tutorial, you can actually do some really powerful things when you combine <strong>Hot Keys<\/strong> with <strong>Rules<\/strong> in NakedMarkets.<\/p>\n<p>You can close trades, execute default trades and more.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you know why you should use Hot Keys, let's get into how to set them up.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Change Your Keyboard Shortcuts<\/h2>\n<p>First, go to the menu at the top of the screen and select: <em>Options<\/em> &gt; <em>Settings<\/em>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1023332 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/nakedmarkets-settings.jpg\" alt=\"NakedMarkets settings\" width=\"228\" height=\"86\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From there, you will the the <em>User Settings<\/em> screen. The text will disappear and &#8220;[Enter the key]&#8221; will appear.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1023334 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/enter-hot-key.jpg\" alt=\"Enter NakedMarkets Hot Key\" width=\"463\" height=\"175\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From here, simply hit the key or key combination on your keyboard that you want to use as the shortcut for that Action.<\/p>\n<p>You can use combinations like &#8220;Control + _____&#8221; as a Hot Key. You can use a separate rules for buys and sells.<\/p>\n<p>For example, let's say that you want to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/nakedmarkets-entry-rules\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"91\">create a rule that sets a sell stop entry<\/a> below the current candle and a stop loss above it. On top of that, you want to set the take profit of the trade to 2R or 2X risk.<\/p>\n<p>This is what it would look like on a chart. The green line is the sell entry stop and the red line is the stop loss.<\/p>\n<p>The green area in the box shows the take profit.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1023344\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AUDCAD_2023-08-01_20-19-38.png\" alt=\"Trade entry\" width=\"1458\" height=\"825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AUDCAD_2023-08-01_20-19-38.png 1458w, https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AUDCAD_2023-08-01_20-19-38-768x435.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1458px) 100vw, 1458px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you had to setup this rule every time you entered a backtesting trade, it would take forever.<\/p>\n<p>But with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/nakedmarkets-discount\/\">NakedMarkets<\/a>, you can setup an <strong>Entry Rule<\/strong> like this.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1023343\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/last-bar-rule.jpg\" alt=\"Last bar rule \" width=\"1470\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/last-bar-rule.jpg 1470w, https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/last-bar-rule-768x234.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1470px) 100vw, 1470px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So this rule will setup the trade as explained above, and it will take 1% risk per trade, and the pending sell stop order will expire after 3 candles.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty cool, right?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Every time you hit the Hot Key for the default sell rule, this trade will automatically be placed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Obviously, this will save a ton of time and you can finish your backtesting faster.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/nakedmarkets-discount\/\">NakedMarkets<\/a> Rules work in this video.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IYE2qXvQC1U\" width=\"840\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">?<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>My Favorite Keyboard Shortcuts<\/h2>\n<p>Alright, let's get into what I use when I backtest.<\/p>\n<p>I use my mouse with my right hand, so I program all of my shortcut keys for my left hand.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;base&#8221; keys for me are A, S and D.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>S = Play\/pause<\/li>\n<li>D =Move 1 candle forward<\/li>\n<li>A = Move 1 candle back<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1023339 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/keyboard-nakedmarkets.jpg\" alt=\"Keyboard shortcut\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/keyboard-nakedmarkets.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/keyboard-nakedmarkets-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All of the other keys are selected around these keys, for easy access.<\/p>\n<p>The other key I use most is &#8220;X&#8221; and I program that to &#8220;close all orders.&#8221; This closes all open and pending orders.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond that, I'll program more shortcut keys, depending on the trading strategy I'm testing.<\/p>\n<p>But all of the additional keys I use will be easily accessible from my base keys.<\/p>\n<h2>Now It's Your Turn<\/h2>\n<p>Once you know how to create keyboard shortcuts, now it's time for you to create shortcuts that make sense to you!<\/p>\n<p>Remember, there are no right or wrong answers here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Figure out what you like to use.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You'll probably have to go through a few versions of your keyboard shortcuts, but that's OK.
