{"id":16868,"date":"2019-06-05T02:42:17","date_gmt":"2019-06-05T09:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/?p=16868"},"modified":"2024-03-18T12:08:19","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T19:08:19","slug":"broadcast-metatrader-alerts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/broadcast-metatrader-alerts\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Broadcast Alerts to Multiple Traders From MT4, MT5 and TradingView"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7egEW-T-QDg\" width=\"840\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>MetaTrader and TradingView have made it easy to create alerts based on price levels, indicators or trading strategies.<\/p>\n<p>But there is one problem with these alert systems&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>They can only send an alert to one app or email address at a time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This doesn't help if you want to get your alerts on multiple devices or if you want to send the same alert to multiple traders.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Luckily there is an easy way to do this. In this post, I'll show you exactly how to send an alert to multiple devices that run:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>macOS<\/li>\n<li>Windows<\/li>\n<li>iOS<\/li>\n<li>Android<\/li>\n<li>Linux<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can send an alert to as many traders as you want and you can control who gets the alerts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and the best part is that this can be done for free.<\/p>\n<h2>Who This Method is For<\/h2>\n<p>This method could be for you if you need to send your trading alerts to multiple devices, multiple traders or a device that is not covered by Metatrader or TradingView.<\/p>\n<h2>Downsides of This Method<\/h2>\n<p>Since this method has several moving parts, there's always the possibility of failure at one of the steps.<\/p>\n<p>In my experience, this method has been very robust. But services do occasionally go down.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, since you are relaying trading signals, there could be a delay in the signal. I've found that the signal speed is often very good.<\/p>\n<p>But it may not be suitable for daytrading or scalping strategies.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Setup this Alert Distribution Method<\/h2>\n<p>You will need to sign up for 4 services, all of them can be used for free:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Metatrader or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/tradingview-review\/\">TradingView<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gmail<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ifttt.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IFTTT<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Slack<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You will probably want to sign up for a new Gmail account so you don't have tons of emails in your personal account.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, it's not a good idea to give too many services access to your personal email account.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Install Your Alerts<\/h3>\n<p>Start by installing the software that will send your alerts. This could be an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/no-code-mt4-ea-chatgpt\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"270\">Expert Advisor<\/a> (EA), or alert indicator&#8230;whatever works best for you.<\/p>\n<p>You can see all of our <a href=\"https:\/\/store.tradingheroes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">trading alert products here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Setup Alerts in Metatrader or TradingView<\/h3>\n<p>Now you will need to setup Metatrader or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/tradingview\">TradingView<\/a> to send email alerts to your Gmail account. It's much easier to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/rsi-alerts-tradingview\/\">setup TradingView alerts<\/a>, so I would recommend using TradingView.<\/p>\n<p>The only downside is with TradingView is that there aren't as many alert indicators and EAs available.<\/p>\n<p>Metatrader has many more free and paid alert indicators available, so if you cannot get a TradingView alert solution, then you will have to go with Metatrader.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can get the instructions for setting up TradingView alerts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/wiki\/Creating_and_Managing_Alerts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Metatrader alert setup instructions are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metatrader4.com\/en\/trading-platform\/help\/setup\/setup_email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 3: Setup Labels in Gmail<\/h3>\n<p>Next, login to your Gmail account and create new labels. This will help you separate each of your trading alerts.<\/p>\n<p>If you only have one alert, then you can skip this step.<\/p>\n<p>Create a new label for each of the alerts that you use.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16869\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/gmail-settings.jpg\" alt=\"Gmail settings\" width=\"504\" height=\"314\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then create a filter to label each of the alert emails. The filter that you create will depend on the information that your alert sends you.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the time, the easiest way to label each email is by filtering by keywords in the email subject line.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend using Gmail because it is the fastest and most reliable.<\/p>\n<p>Email providers like Yahoo are notorious for delays and sometimes losing emails altogether.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4: Use an IFTTT Applet to Bridge Gmail and Slack<\/h3>\n<p>Then connect your Gmail account and Slack channel to IFTTT.<\/p>\n<p>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/ifttt.com\/applets\/176220p-email-a-message-to-a-slack-channel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this applet<\/a> to send an email from Gmail to the Slack channel of your choice.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend setting up a new Slack channel for each type of alert.
