Interceptor For Mac Review (September 2014 Update)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of years ago, around this time, I wrote about the desktop version of <a href=\"https:\/\/tradeinterceptor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trade Interceptor<\/a> and how it might become a Metatrader desktop replacement.<\/p>\n<p>I was particularly excited because it was finally a decent charting platform that ran on a Mac without additional plugins or ghetto rigging.<\/p>\n<p>But the truth was that it was not ready for prime time yet.<\/p>\n<p>It was still just a java program and did not run native on my Mac.<\/p>\n<p>The interface was terrible, with charts and individual windows strewn all over my desktop.<\/p>\n<p><em>But there was promise.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A lot of promise.\u00a0 It was a diamond in the rough.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fast forward to 2014 and they finally decided to release a new version.<\/p>\n<p>This post will give you my Trade Interceptor for Mac review and what I like and don't like about the new update.<\/p>\n<h2>Trade Interceptor for Mac Review Video<\/h2>\n<p>Now I will take you through exactly what I like and don't like about the software.<\/p>\n<p>On the whole, it is worth using and a huge improvement from the last version.<\/p>\n<p>But there are still some really weird things in the program.<\/p>\n<p>Find out what they are in this video.<\/p>\n<p>If you prefer the text version, it is provided after this video.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">What I Like<\/h2>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">So the first thing that I noticed was that this is finally a proper charting platform for the Mac.<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Everything is included in one cohesive screen and it looks just like the mobile version.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong>Super easy to setup and use.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8691 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/trade-interceptor-for-mac-screen.jpg\" alt=\"Forex charting software screen\" width=\"600\" height=\"362\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The charts are easy to read and the layout is clean.<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The setup is straightforward and much more intuitive than Metatrader.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">You can setup tabs where you can track multiple charts at the same time.<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">I feel that this is a much better implementation than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/metatrader-tutorial-how-to-create-space-for-more-charts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">profiles feature<\/a> in Metatrader.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">I also like the fact that you can get quotes from different markets like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/3-non-forex-markets-that-you-should-watch-to-trade-forex-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gold<\/a>, US Dollar and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/what-they-arent-telling-you-about-mtgox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bitcoin<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">It reminds me of the Broco MT platform that I used to use back in the day.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">It is really important to keep track of related index and commodity markets that affect Forex and this platform makes it easy to watch everything in one place.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">I haven't examined some of the other features that closely, but I'm this stuff is pretty awesome already.<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">I'm really interested to get into alerts and finding out about custom indicators.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">What I Don't Like<\/h2>\n<h3>Lost Backtesting<\/h3>\n<p>First of all, I noticed that they got rid of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/forex-back-testing-software\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">backtesting<\/a> feature.<\/p>\n<p>Although I didn't try using this feature in the previous version, I'm really hoping that Trade Interceptor can create a better version of the backtester in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metaquotes.net\/en\/metatrader4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Metatrader 4. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The thing that is missing from the MT4 is manual backtesting.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully TI will add it back in future versions and bring it up to par with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/forex\/backtesting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forex Tester 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Weird Menu Options<\/h3>\n<p>Next, there are some really strange options when it comes to functions that you can select in the menu.<\/p>\n<p>There is even an option to check your spelling and grammar.<\/p>\n<p>I don't know about you, but I don't know the last time that grammar was necessary for placing a trade.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what I mean&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8695 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/weird-menu-options-ti.jpg\" alt=\"strange menu options in Trade Interceptor\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Customizations Don't Save<\/h3>\n<p>There are some customizations that you can make to the software that makes it look really slick and easy to use.<\/p>\n<p>For example, you can change the menu bar at the top to only show the views and the news.<\/p>\n<p>But when you exit the program and open it again, the settings go back to the default.<\/p>\n<p>The same goes with showing\/hiding the views.<\/p>\n<p>I don't want to keep changing things back every time I open the program.<\/p>\n<p>Being able to save my customizations would make using the software so much more enjoyable.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>Even though there are are things that I don't like, they are relatively minor things.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, this is a fantastic second version of Trade Interceptor and you should download it if you are looking for an alternative to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/how-to-run-metatrader-and-forex-tester-on-a-mac\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Metatrader on the Mac<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Remember when Metatrader first launched?<\/p>\n<p>It was pretty similar&#8230;some really great features, but just rough around the edges.\u00a0 I am sure that this will change in time.<\/p>\n<p>I am personally using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/vmwarefusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VMWare Fusion<\/a> and an old copy of Windows XP to run Metatrader 4 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/forex\/backtesting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forex Tester 2<\/a> on my Mac.<\/p>\n<p>But things could change in the near future because I really like where this is going.<\/p>\n<p>As you probably know, I absolutely love the iOS version of Trade Interceptor and it is on my list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/the-top-5-most-useful-iphone-apps-for-forex-traders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">must-use iPhone apps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I also have it on my list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingheroes.com\/the-top-5-most-useful-android-apps-for-forex-trading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recommended Android apps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>They have versions for the following platforms:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/app\/trade-interceptor-forex-mobile\/id329476057?mt=8\" noreferrer\">OS X<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Android (Google Play and Amazon)<\/li>\n<li>Blackberry<\/li>\n<li>Windows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I hope that you found this Trade Interceptor for Mac review helpful and
